Our Infant Program

Our Programs

Rather than use walkers, swings, pacifiers and high chairs to pacify and restrict actions of the infant, the Montessori infant environment offers a milieu of hands-on, real-life experiences to develop the whole child and maximize the future potential of that human life. Growing in such an environment enables the infant by the age of one to move, speak and choose with intention, to act independently of the adult, to put order to the sensory information received, to respond using intelligent thought processes, and to function in a social community with respect for others.

Learning takes place at the very beginning of an infant's life. At ARC-EN-CIEL Day Care Center and Montessori School, our plan to help babies learn is an important part of caring for them. Infants learn differently from older children, and we offer activities that are carefully tailored for their special needs.

a) Teaching through care giving
Love is our primary focus in caring for infants. Trained caregivers who love babies will nurture and cuddle your little one when undergoing care giving activities such as feeding, diapering, and holding. Talking to them will foster their language development, and smiling to them will help them learn to trust others while away from their parent.

b) Learning through exploration
Safety is our main concern when determining what toys, materials and equipment to provide. We offer a colorful environment, soft and easily sanitized toys, and music that will foster the infants' curiosity and creativity. At ARC-EN-CIEL Day Care Center and Montessori School, we accommodate the rapid changes and demands of the baby's first year and build confidence into the transition to toddler age.

Finally, a complete record of your infant care will be provided at the end of the day including different activities such as sleeping, eating, diapering, curriculum, etc.
