Summary
of available positions
Center Director I
Jamaica Plain / Boston / Brookline
The director is responsible for
the management of the professional activities for the center.
The director is also involved in planning, supervision, and
evaluation of the program, participation in the children's
educational activities, and overall responsibility for the
day-to-day planning and operation of the program.
The director will supervise the
childcare workers in their daily activities; conduct in-service
training; participate in staff meetings to discuss methods
of program evaluation and improvement. The director will study
the needs of each child enrolled in the program; evaluate
specific needs of the children; recommend changes to meet
these needs.
Lead Teacher
for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers /Staff Supervisor
Jamaica Plain / Boston / Brookline
The Lead Teacher/Staff Supervisor
will have an opportunity to be creative in determining how
to inspire, motivate, guide, and facilitate the integration
of the curriculum in the classroom.
The LT will help the other teachers
in their assessment of their classroom needs by being in constant
communication with them via regular meetings. The LT will
provide information to teachers on training resources, and/or
coordinate training. The LT will also be responsible for the
implementation of the schedule, health and safety policies,
staff discussions in which teachers share ideas about making
improvements in the curriculum. The LT is responsible for
parent/child communication.
Teacher
for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
Jamaica Plain / Boston / Brookline
The teacher's responsibility
is vital to the success of the curriculum. Along with the
LT, the teacher will work toward effective integration of
the program in their teaching. They will work together to
develop classroom lessons, which involve the integration of
the curriculum to enhance the learning experience for the
children. The teacher will be involved in the parent/child
communications.
Teachers will participate in
as many staff development sessions as possible to increase
their skills, and experience for making the program integration
in the classroom a reality.
Assistant
Teacher for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
Jamaica Plain / Boston / Brookline
The Assistant Teacher will help the teacher
in the integration of the program within the classroom. Their
participation should be positive, working closely with the
teacher. In the absence of the teacher, the assistant will
take charge. It is important that the AT participate in staff
development session to increase their skills, and experience.
